Independent Lake Camp is located in the northern tip of the Pocono Mountains near the City of Scranton, Pennsylvania. The camp is set on 300 pristine acres and includes a beautiful waterfront on the 100-acre, private, Independent Lake. ILC is in a rural area between the small towns of Orson and Thompson, PA. The camp sits amidst the clean Pocono mountain air, at 2,500 feet elevation. This causes temperatures to vary – with very limited humidity, beautiful sunny days and cool nights that are perfect for sleeping. The average summer daytime temperatures range from 70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit and nighttime temperatures can range from 55 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Welcome to Camp

Fundamental factors to the success of our activities and the camper experience are providing well maintained spaces that entice, and employing a talented staff that engage.

Waterfront

Our pristine 1-acre Independent Lake provides stunning views from the entirety of our campus and invives campers to waterski, wakeboard, powerboat, paddle board, kayak, and more.

Stage

The outdoor beach stage was specially built to showcase our camper in front of the beautiful lake setting. Used daily for morning yoga, band practice, pound fit classes, afternoon DJ sessions, and evening dance parties. Many of our performance based classes will get to show-off here on performance day- musicians, DJ's, singers, dancers, improv and monologue actors, comedians, and even LARRPers (Live Action Role Players).

Elkview

Dedicated cabin area for our younger campers where they are supported in gaining the tools for growth and navigating personal successes, while still being able to play and be a kid.

Outdoor Dining Patio

This picturesque lakeside dining area provides a space for the essential summer experience- outdoor BBQs!
