Whether you're just getting your feet
wet on the World Wide Web or live for total immersion
in an electronic world, ILC has a separate building devoted
to computers. We are well aware that any camp wanting to keep
its doors open during the third millennium had better have
a mouse in the house. Lots of them.
We offer this comfort to concerned parents like the ones above:
Please remember, Honeybunch's home computer is not surrounded
by a lake, a circus building, art studios, indoor and outdoor
athletic arenas, a theater, a recording studio, and several
hundred *live* children. It is probably surrounded by either
uncharacteristically ugly den furniture or Honeybunch's personal
laundry. Trust us, "net" at ILC usually also comes
to mean the one under the flying trapeze and the one at which
you aim the basketball.
When a kid looks through the lens of a video camera
s/he becomes a bit of a director, a more conscious observer
of the natural world and human endeavor, and a keeper of memories.
Because our daily reality at ILC is either entertaining, beautiful,
or exciting - and usually all three -- there is always something
gratifying waiting on the other side of the lens. Our immense
variety of performances, sports events, art exhibitions, surroundings
- and the wonderful, fascinating faces of our campers - provide
unending material and inspiration. |
