Independent Lake Camp will provide you with a summer of exponential professional growth, with irreplaceable friendships and contacts of campers and colleagues, with the beauty of our natural setting, lifelong memories, and untold fun. Our staff is the most important aspect of running a quality camp. Please take a moment to read our mission statement and think about how you would 'fit in' with it.
Independent Lake Camp is a co-ed, non-traditional, residential camp located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. We are located 2.5 hours north of New York City and 2.5 hours north of Philadelphia in the small town of Orson PA. Independent Lake Camp attracts campers and counselors from all over the USA and abroad. We cater to ages 6-17 and offer 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 9 week sessions. We offer plenty of time off, one period every day and 4 nights per week. You will also receive one day off per week but not including the first and last week of your contract. We do not impose a staff curfew. We are looking for staff who have an expertise in a certain area and a passion to share that expertise with kids. We are also looking for a few general Counselors.
Staff dates for the 2010 season are the following:
Full Summer - June 21 - Aug 29
Partial Summer - June 21 - Aug 21 or July 3 - Aug 29

We are looking for people to help in the following areas: Horseback Riding, Go-Karts, BMX, Hockey, Rock Music, Computers, Circus, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, Softball, Academics, Theatre, Creative Writing, Dance, Radio, Tech Theatre, Visual Arts, Nature, Waterfront, Swimming, Sailing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Water-skiing, Kneeboarding, Boat-driving, Horseback, Magic, Golf, Rocketry, Lifeguarding, Climbing Wall/Ropes Course, Roleplaying Games, Tutoring, Skateboarding, Rollerblading, A Capella Singing, Administration, Maintenance, Driving, Housekeeping, Landscaping, Kitchen, Nursing, and more…
You can now earn college credits!
Here's How It Works:
* You must be a college student who has successfully completed your freshman year.
* You must bring the materials to your college advisor and get permission in advance to take the course.
* Our Certified Camp Safety Director will be your Field Supervisor and in charge of this program.
* You must complete the course and successful summer employment.
* Your cost for the program is $300 for four credits, this can be deducted from your summer salary.
* The Dean of this program Norman Friedman will be able to assist now and throughout the summer.
